Samuel Geddert was a kid who loved life and lived it well for almost every moment of his 13+ years with us. We think that he figured out long before the rest of us that life is short, so we might as well live it to the max!

Sammy lived with many challenges and took them in stride as they came. He earned his nick-name “sam i am” in the NICU at Winnipeg’s Children’s Hospital, where he sailed through some of the most complex heart surgeries ever performed at that centre. From that first (of many) heart surgeries and early months in the NICU, to later surgeries to address problems with his speech, and finally challenges with academic learning and physical stamina at school…Sam’s persistence and generous spirit in overcoming his obstacles affected all those who surrounded and cared for him. For all his struggles, one thing Sammy absolutely excelled in was making friends and enjoying his family. He was the easiest guy to have around: happy just to hang out, and always willing to do something fun again - preferable “tomorrow”! His last night with us was spent having crazy fun with his best buddies from Youth Group.

Sammy died unexpectedly on the morning of Feb 19, 2005. His memory and impact on his tribe live on.

5th annual sam i am golf and socialization event

sam i am golf and socialization event at The Meadows Golf Course.

HOW THE EVENT WORKS:

· COME FOR GOLF: 11:30 lunch on the course 12:35 shotgun start

o Texas Scramble Format

o All abilities welcome

o Register with your own team of 4 or as an individual and we’ll put you on a team

o $125 per person ($500 per team of 4) gets you: lunch, Golf, a custom designed sam-i-am T shirt, and Dinner! Plus you are supporting 2 worthy causes. WOW!

· DINNER: 6 pm at The Meadows - great food and a family friendly opportunity to socialize, share stories, and enjoy a relaxed celebration. No separate social this year - all the fun, music and prizes will be rolled into the dinner party. Dinner is included in price for Golfers.

o Non- golfers are welcome to come for dinner only - a great opportunity to bring the rest of the family or friends.

o Prices for dinner alone: $30 per person (if not golfing). Children Kindergarten – Grade 6 are $15. Kids under 5 eat free. * but please let us know they are coming :)

o sam-i-am tournament Tshirts available to purchase at the dinner
